Exactly the same usage, but RF no need to point directly for machine control, but infra-red does.
if you use Universal remote such as: Logitech, basic models do not support RF frequency,
but you can simply buy a infrared receiver and jack in C-200 back to use it.

My suggestion, you don't need to buy a spare for your C-200.
(note, i have both remotes)
