I would like to know what is "Audyssey" on ONKYO 5507?

Hi everybody,

I would like to know:

1) What does "Audyssey" mean on Onkyo 5507? It means the distance and channel settings of speakers by the small mike? I played Denon b4, so......
2) What does "EQ" mean then? Do I need to follow it or I need to change it according to my room?
3) I tried to use the mike to set the speakers, the computer set some speakers 40Hz, some 80Hz....etc. however the result is not so good, so I changed all to 80Hz. already, result is astounding!

Please dont laugh at me

, just wanna consult your opinion and fully utilise my equipment.
