don't mention it big hing. ^_^
any ideas on the price of the Roksan pre you mentioned?
I searched the web just now and found out the Roksan is a very musical and well made UK pre.
Apart from the Roksan, any more suggestions on 2channel pre that I can consider that works well with my b&w,
I am sorry but my 2 channel knowledge is very poor~
so need a lot more experienced users' advice like you & the other forumers.
Thanks.

It's because the main stream in the market is AV only. Therefore it's not easy to find a Pre Amp with bypass function unless you are willing to pay for it.
Alternatively you can try to find the following items in the used market.
1. Roksan PR 15B... Expensive and not very popular in HK.
2. Mark Levinson No. 380....Over ten years model.
3. McIntosh C46/C220/C2200....Bulky and need to make something by your own to activate "Passthru".
tried HK 970, ex int. amp model
pushing cm7 at the shop, the sound is slightly 'hard' and 'dry' and 'thick'
don't really like it myself.
also tried Cyrus 2 models int. amp, pushing cm7 again, sound is slightly more musical than HK.
then it's Rotel pre + 1582 power amp, pushing cm5, showroom sound is much better than shop, for the price of it, it's already acceptable to me.
at the end tried naim supernait, pushing focus audio, good analytical sound and very musical, '1pt $, 1 pt product'...haha
