I use Himedia to read my files on my synology 415play and then output on my receiver Yamaha A2060. Sound through B&W speakers on 7.1 setup. Visual via Panasonic plasma TV.
I quickly notice that Himedia sometimes cannot find my network. I says "NO SERVER". No matter what settings you change or wait how long, it cannot find the network. If you switch off router, receiver, himedia - everything - then sometimes it can see network again but not always.
This has been very frustrating and it is a bug because if I unplug Himedia Q10 and plug in my old Himedia 910B, then I can see my network and play all the files, everytime.
Anyone else experience this "NO SERVER" problem on their himedia Q10 and can share any solutions or workaround?
Makes me regret paying HK$2,000 for this Himedia Q10.
Trust me, I have been using Himedia 910B for many years so very familiar with menu settings.
Initially very pleased with Q10. picture quality and sound significantly better than Himedia 910B. The blacks are specially noticeably better and clearer on Q10.
Q10 also plays all my mkv files flawlessly. srt files loads no problem like I sometimes hear from other media boxes. no stutterring.
Its an andrioid machines and I use it to view you tube and great apps for live sports.
BUT, this terrible "NO SERVER" issue is terrible. My firmware at 1.08. There is a firmware 1.0.9 that was recently released but I need to take Peng Bo, their agent it to upgrade. That's another thing. Peng Bo will clean install your Himedia Q10 everytime it does the upgrade. Wipes all the installed APPs that have been downloaded. Why doesn't their website just let us download the firmware. Instead it ask you for BAIDO password?!

Pls try input your NAS Ip Address manually instead of use the machine's search function, once you input the correct address and located the NAS successfully, you should able to see it at the top manual and not required to input every time. Mine is Q5 gen. 4 + DS214play, hope this can help.
It is not that it can't find the NAS. The problem is that it can't locate the home NETWORK! (I have tried to input the IP manually but it doesn't work)
The only solution is to switch off the modem, router, himedia, yamaha receiver ie everything and restart...and pray. Sometimes it works and it can see the network and sometimes it doesn't. It's all luck.
Strangely, I can go to UPNP and can see the network everytime. But it doesn't play the mkv files on NAS. And when it does it always outputs sound as 2 channel. Very strange indeed.
I just bought the q5 4 generation and face the same problem. Most of time cannot search my NAS but sometimes( actually very few it did) . I used H600A before and didn't face these problem. himedia product looks now quiet good now.
