I had about 30 hrs. on my new TW8300 n so far so good.

1) Excellent picture quality when upscaling 1080 files to 4K, which I believe most of the videophile had these days.
2) Cannot test the HDR feature properly since waiting for the new UHB player from Oppo, which should be here end of this year.
3) Did use a cheap(US$40) 4K media box to send out some 4K files to the projector ... picture looks good but the media box itself is not very stable n picture drop out every now n then.

There were quite a few good tips on how to calibrate this unit, which I think are very valuable. For example, to turn off the e-shift before focusing the picture.

Finally the US forum just annouced the release of a new Firmware(1.09) for the correct adjustment on the HDR feature ...

"Epson just released the new 1.09 firmware and can now see new options in the AUTO setting - sweet!

HDR (Bright)
HDR
HDR Mode 1
HDR Mode 2
HDR Mode 3
HDR Mode 4"

Hope Epson HK can act immediately n tell us how to do the upgrade by ourselves, without sending the unit back to the factory. If any CHings have connection with Epson, please ask on our behalves. Many thanks !!!

It was so nice for Epson. I called them last Monday n they sent somebody to my place on Saturday n did the Firmware upgrade in 10 min.. It was free n no need to pack the projector n do it at factory. The technician, Mr. Wong, is so nice to stick around a bit longer to teach how to use some features on the unit. However, he did not have much knowledge on 4K n HDR.
