DTS Demonstrates DTS-UHD™ Decoder Using Single-Chip Audio DSP at Consumer Electronics Show
DTS-UHD audio decoder enables soundbar, HTiB and AVR manufacturers to bring the advanced features of object-based audio to the consumer market
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CES (Booth #9839) — DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced its first demonstration of the new DTS-UHD™ decoder on a single-chip, high-performance audio DSP from Cirrus Logic at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
DTS-UHD is the first object-based audio format designed for consumer delivery. Object-based audio brings enhanced realism through more accurate spatial rendering, height audio elements, and customizations that adapt to any speaker layout. In addition to rendering object-based audio content, DTS-UHD supports complete compatibility for playback of DTS channel based content, providing the best audio experience from any content featuring DTS audio coding.
