Synology NAS + Logitech SBT + Asus dac

Will get a 2nd hand one bay Synology NAS next week. Planned connection will be: nas and sbt (lan cable) ---> switch,  sbt (usb cable) --->DDC(coaxial cable)--->asus dac.

Synology has audio station and logitech media server can also be installed in the nas. Will compare which is better soundwise.

Is it better to run/use logitech media server(lms) in the nas via android apps (logitech squeezebox controller?) to select which lms (in nas or sbt?) to run/connect (for better cpu,ram, etc.)?  Both the nas and sbt will be recoginsed in the android apps?  Nil experience in nas and appreciate any comment, thx.

If I am not undertsanding wrongly, you want to try two different things:

1. LMS in NAS  
2. LMS in SBT

In both cases, you need to first select which LMS to use in SBT, you can't do it in apps (if not remember wrongly)

It is recommended to use case 1, for 2 reasons
1. using LMS in NAS can read files stored in NAS, while LMS in SBT can only read file from USB hdd or stick
2. NAS should have better hardware than SBT, and LMS is huge resource consuming service, there are reported case that running LMS in SBT cause slow performance and crap sound

Agreed that it is better to run lms in nas for having better hardware. I was wondering if using lms in nas, is there any android apps for me to control it(like using logitech squeezebox controller in android phone to control the sbt remotely) or do I need to do it in a pc (which I do not prefer)?

Oic, thx a lot. Hope everything will be simple and smooth, but sometimes computer stuff can be nasty.
