Plus, this player upscales your existing DVD collection to near HD quality via HDMI™. DVD Upscaling via HDMI™2
DVD upscaling via HDMI™ makes your existing standard DVDs look better on your HDTV by upscaling them to near HD quality.2

Built-in wireless functionality (802.11N/G/B/A)
Allows you to easily connect to the internet to download and stream BD-Live™1 content such as additional scenes, shorts, trailers, movie-based games, and more. While compatible with most home wireless routers, the BDP-S560 Blu-ray Disc player also supports Wi-Fi protected set-up (WPS) for a quick and easy conection to WPS enabled wireless routers.

Photo streaming functionality
Allows you to wirelessly stream digital photos from your PC or other Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) enabled device to your Blu-ray Disc Player, allowing you to easily view photos on your HDTV.

Digital photo playback
The digital photo playback feature lets you enjoy your digital photos on your HDTV by inserting USB flash memory loaded with photos into the players' front USB port.

Dolby® TrueHD and dts-HD internal decoding and
bitstream output via HDMI™
The BDP-S560 Blu-ray Disc™ player supports both internal decoding and bitstream output of enhanced audio codecs, including Dolby® TrueHD and dts®-HD Master Audio. These high definition audio formats deliver “lossless” surround sound with up to 7.1 channels of discrete audio that is nearly identical to the master studio recording, allowing you to enjoy uncompromised sound from the comfort of your living room.

BD-Live™1
Technology Brings you the next generation of interactivity, allowing you to download and stream bonus content such as additional scenes, shorts, trailers, movie-based games, and more. (Media, USB Flash Memory and internet connection is required).

Quick start-up mode
Quick Start Mode lets you begin operating your Sony® Blu-ray Disc™ player approximately six seconds from the time it's powered on.

Xross Media Bar™ user interface
Xross Media Bar™ user interface makes it simple and intuitive to navigate television menus, controls, and user settings.

24p True Cinema capable
24p True Cinema capable lets you watch films at their intended 24 fps (frames per second) -- the way movies are shot and mastered -- so you can enjoy more cinematic picture quality.6

Precision Cinema HD Upscale circuitry
Precision Cinema HD upscale uses advanced conversion and processing to detect image changes at the pixel level, rather than at the level of whole scan lines. Additionally, separate algorithms are used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from motion artifacts.

Bonus View feature
Provides “picture-in-picture” capability with select Blu-ray Disc titles -- useful for viewing director or actor commentary while the movie plays.
