if you are doing the renovation to your home, i guess you may consider laying a few sets to compensate the case of not enough power feed from 2.5mm stranded or soild.
i have four sets laid. one for tv, router, modem and now tv; second one for av-amp and power supply for 2-ch preamp; third one for turntable, cdp, bdp and ps3; the last set for subwoofer and 2-ch power amp.
the reason av-amp and the power supply for preamp sharing one because only either one of them is used at any one time, and same reason for the third and forth sets.
