Yup it's actually kind of cast iron but the composition consists of more carbon or graphite in its microstructure, whereas:

"The common defining characteristic of this group of materials is the morphological structure of the graphite. In ductile irons, the graphite is in the form of spherical nodules rather than flakes (as in grey iron), thus inhibiting the creation of cracks and providing the enhanced ductility that gives the alloy its name."

Thus, the existence of grahite I think it is not the metal, aluminium, alloy or purely steel I tried before.

Well, like carbon it's presence in steel doesn't change the fact that steel is still classifier as metal.
Ductile iron contains graphite but it still metal. Not sure about Ductile Iron, but cast iron is well know of its vibration

lets imagine/assume the spherical nodules could perform what the graphite (the bonding) performs. Anyhow it's kind of cast iron and testing and comparing is a process for me to learn. Lets listen happily n play happily. So I think the dual nature ductile cast iron perform synergistically than ur mentioned steel. anyhow my personal sharing, just little two cents ^+++^   來自: iPhone客戶端

剛剛取了两套，一套放在1O3下面，用前一後二方式，目的是前一剛好放在buleray盤面防震。
結果下回分解。。。。。。

暫時試了兩隻CD感覺如下
1）響宴的第五首“彝族舞曲“中琵琶獨奏，琵琶聲精緻，琴聲尾音
       細微震動很清楚。
2）同碟的“塞外情思“中胡獨奏，現場感很好。
3）再同碟的“搖藍曲“，無伴奏童合唱，考驗人聲位置感，明顯感覺獨唱童後面一群伴唱。
4）李昀陵的“唱最“的“Tream's Blue崔恩的憂鬱“歌手換氣聲及大提琴現場感
       鋼琴鍵的震動尾音很精確地表現出來。
5）最後“最晚Early morning“人聲個總憂鬱jazz味道完完全全地show off.
     
       同時聲音比沒有用時進前一尺和廣闊左！
