?? WHAT ???
BETTER MAKE COMMENT 'AFTER' VIEWING THE BLURAY !!
I'VE NOT YET WATCHED THE TAIWAN VERSION, I WON'T COMMENT ON ITS SIZE (22.6G) AND 'DVD?' QUALITY.
I DO HAVE THE US SINGLE DISC BLURAY VERSION (44G per www.dvdbeaver.com), AND THE PICTURE IS ABSOLUTELY SATISFYING (FOR A 1939 YR FILM)!! POSSIBLE REASONS FOR RELATIVELY SMALLER FILE SIZE:
1. 4:3 PICTURE FRAME (NOT 16:9, LESS DATA)
2. HIGHER COMPRESSION RATIO (FOR BOTH AUDIO/VIDEO)
3. OPTIONS ON SOUNDTRACK.
SIT BACK AND RELAX, FOR STANDARD 120" 1080P SCREEN OR 60" PLASMA, NO PROBLEM AT ALL (FOR US VERSION)! COULD SOMEBODY COMPARE THE US / TAIWAN PICTURE QUALITY.
PLS REFER TO COMPARISONS FROM THE WEB, IT'S ABSOLUTELY BLURAY QUALITY, MILES AHEAD OF ITS DVD COUNTERPART. FOR THESE KIND OF CLASSICS, THE FILM OWNER WOULDN'T MIND TO DO FRAME TO FRAME RESTORATION. RESULT IS WAY BETTER THAN SOME OF THE MORE RECENT FILM (eg. 'About Last Night' Bluray is really upscaled DVD quality, this film is not the same thing)
