For those who owned Optoma 33/3300 and used a screen with gain about 1.0, please have a look and try the setting in the first page of the following web site. You will get a very good picture from the projector. For those who used a screen other than 1.0 gain, you may also try the setting and adjust the contrast, you can able to get a very good reslut too. ^_^

Front Projectors are more likely (compared to direct view displays such as LCD and plasma) to be affected by your viewing environment (such as color and reflection from your walls, ceiling, floor, furniture, etc.), bulb age, screen material, etc.Screen gain is only one of the many factors.Even screen gain is 1.0, different brands of screen (OS, Grandview, Da-Lite, Stewart, etc.) will cause different light spectrum to be absorbed & reflected.All these factors result in copying settings from another calibrated projector is totally irrelevant - but I agree that in some cases in which you don't have any experience in calibration (not even know how to use a simple calibration disc like DVE HD), it is better than nothing.
