Hi Wilmer,
I am interesting in your DAC. How will you compare the sonic character of 5i-10 with other DAC like Lavry DA11, Wyred 4 Sound Dac2, Mytek 192 DAC? I am using TAD speakers as well as Genelec. I listen mainly classical music (from Bach to Mozart to Beethoven to Chopin, etc) ans some Jazz (like, Mile Davis, John Coltrane, Ray Brown, etc).

我賣花一定贊花香，而事實上 5i-10 真係唔會輸比你列舉 o既三都 DAC，但係你列出 o既三部都係 hifi 性強分析力高味道淡，完全同 5i-10 相反風格，等如問緊石机靚定膽机靚，已經唔係靚唔靚，而係個人主觀選擇，所以係無答案 o既。。。加上從心理角度推測，你既然心理目標三部都係 hifi 性強分析力高味道淡，即係代表你潛意識係唔接受音樂味為主 o既東西，所以你應該唔會鐘意 5i-10，可以試都慳返。
其實我當日聽5i-10都幾配Jazz。我認為5i-10是少數有感情有韻味的DAC。
外面大部份dac都標榜分枌力強，很多時聲音淡如開水。聽大棚交響時是很清爽，但聽Jazz/Trio/獨奏/獨唱時會特別少了躍動感和感情。

Even though I mentioned the 3 DACs which are my DAC target, I only had a chance to listen to Mytek very briefly (in Tsang Fok). So I have very little idea whether they suit for my preference. But they are all expensive stuff, which will take me several more month to save enough money to buy either of them.
5i-10 DAC seems to have great potential, which is within my present budget. I am not a hi-fi person. I only own two CDPs over last 20 years---Philips 202, Marantz 72. After Marantz 72 was down two years old, I switched to CAS (using Audiogate now, Cplay in the past) and bought a heavily-modified Lite DAC72 with (cheap) powercords you made many years ago when your shop was in Tim Chi. But the sound performance is not as good as before---the sound is without life and rhythm. So I have been thinking to buy a better DAC. I listened to several DACs(<10K) before, but they are not up to my expectation, so I think I might need to save up more money to buy those big brand name DACs toget close to my "old-time" sound, at least.
