MacBook Pro or MacBook Air

Ching,

My wife want a new notebook.... asking about MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.... She mainly for internet or may be checking photo.....

I want to ask which one is better?If MacBook Air, can I use it to play PC game?

You want to install Mac OSX or Windows OS like Windows 7?
If you will install Windows OS, I don't suggest you buy Macbook, it's a wastage.
If you will use OSX, it'd be quite complicate to install PC Game and the performance is very poor for sure.

I think Macbook air is better, the speed of current version is getting more reasonable (I use the word "reasonable" in purpose). For macbook pro, it is much faster, but you will never move it around because of the weight and size. The question is, does your wife really need that fast?

不過如果只係用來上網同"check photo" (check photo means browsing photos in the hdd/internet not photo editing right?) + 家中有wifi + 又吾介紹貴少少, 買air la ~ 由其是女人, 多數like air, 輕巧,有型 {:6_193:}

air pros and cons (compare with pro):
cons
- air interface 比較少, 無sd card slot, 無lan port (當然可以用usb card reader 同 usb lan port la,不過加多舊野,無咁形lor)
- air Hdd 細, no problem if u have NAS, really a problem if u need to store lots of photos, videos
- 貴
- performance is not a problem if only use for web, photo & video browsing

pros
- 輕,形 ( i think this is one of the major reason ppl use mac instead of wintel notebook, of cause mac ox is another major reason)

if just for web surfing or checking photos, i will suggest Macbook Air for sure!
there is only small differences between the performance of CPU with Macbook Pro
and the MOST IMPORTANT is Macbook Air is using SSD which give you to have crazy response compare with using the traditional HDD!!!(Macbook Pro)

Macbook Air gives you
FAST BOOTING SPEED
FAST RESPONSE TO OPEN SOFTWARE (e.g. Lightroom/web browser)
LIGHTER

Macbook Air must win! ... if you dont consider the small HDD size

many good and useful comment for me.... i think I will give up using mac for pc game and only for internet this case....

Too bad MacBook Air does not have 15" display... if not, that is much better.....

MacBook Air最方便是帶返工，做present,做report及上網（我天天如事），雖然HD較細，但若不要大量玩相也OK的！(好睇師兄點用法吧！）我Window和Mac System也在機內，部份相和mp3也照放，也用了近一年了冇投訴；Pro真係大重了，但論性能就強好多，若果唔玩Raw, Air是足夠日常應用，但一玩RAW。。。你應該會換機了。。。連開一張都幾吃力下嘅！

最佳組合，一部MBA出街，再加一部iMAC係屋企。買嘅次序先後不拘。
