If you are using 2.35:1 screen, you can use anamorphic lens to project the 2.35:1 aspect ratio movie onto the screen, so there will be no black bar on the screen and you make use of the entire screen area for movie.But either your BD player or the projector must support the Vertical Sketch mode.The way it works is to first digitally sketch (i.e. scale the pixels) the 2.35:1 image vertically to 16:9 aspect ratio by the player/projector (so a person will look thinner), and then the anamorphic lens will (optically) sketch the 16:9 image horizontally back to 2.35:1 ratio and project it onto the screen.

The difference of this with a ZOOM method to fill the 2.35:1 screen with the 2.35:1 movie is that it can make use of all the 1920 x 1080 pixels of the display panel, so the image can be brighter than the ZOOM method (which uses only part of the panel because of the top and bottom black bars).
