索尼公司日前宣布了Hi-MD Walkman随身听的停产计划。最后一款Hi-MD机型MZ-RH1将于今年9月停止出货，Hi-MD碟片则会在2012年9月停产。不过，普通版MD盘片仍会继续销售，满足那些死忠用户的需求。索尼的MD（Mini Disc）Walkman随身听于1992年首次亮相，以精巧体积和数字音质见长，主打随身音乐。不过和索尼的许多自主标准产品一样，MD也独木难支，迟迟没有成为行业主流，又遇上了音乐的数字化、网络化革命。
2004年，索尼推出了容量升级至1GB的Hi-MD碟片，采用与PC兼容的FAT文件格式，可以格式化用于数据存储，试图以此重振MD雄风。首批 Hi-MD Walkman机型MZ-NH1、MZ-NH3D、MZ-EH1于2004年6月发布，不过自从2006年4月MZ-RH1推出后，索尼就没有再继续更新这一产品线。
对于停产Hi-MD的原因，索尼官方公布的理由也非常合理：由于闪存产品已成数码音响市场主流，对Hi-MD的需求已经大为减少。

I still use a portable CD player.Actually, I have 2....an Aiwa and a Panasonic.It may sound strange, but I also have 2 new Sony Discman still factory-sealed in their boxes.I use a pair of Sennheiser PX-200 headphones with my portable CD players.
Yes, I also has a portable Sony MiniDisc player.I also buy MDs....許冠傑, 林志美, etc.
And you may think this is even more strange....I still use a cassette Sony "Sports" Walkman.I have over 300 70s-80s HK pop cassettes and I need to hear them.

Yes, I do.I have a Sony TC-K670 3 motor, 3 head cassette deck that I purchased about 20 years ago.And I have a Sony cassette "Sports" Walkman.
以前d 玩具好玩好多！d 碟真係一聽再聽，依家一機在手160gb 隻隻都五想聽成日想轉碟！
如果冇ipod 出現會有好多好野玩！可惜：（
