There are lots of choice out there from UK, Europe and Asian manufacturers. Off the top of my head from, there are:

Arcam rDac
Cambridge Audio DacMagic
MusicalFidelity V-DAC, M1 DAC
Rega DAC

The Rega DAC is around 6K I think, so a bit out of your budget, but it's been getting great impressions on the web. Check it out.
