EQ setting for two subwoofer
I have a Velodyne DD-10 with advanced EQ managment and i also have another subwoofer without EQ setting. Now i have a velodyne SMS-1 ( subwoofer managment system ). Am i correct that i use a Y split with one cable to SMS-1 and then to another band subwooferand from the Y split, another line to DD-10. That mean i use SMS-1 to manage one subwoofer ( without EQ) . If yes, when doing EQ tunning, i have to use two micophone connect to DD-10 and another subwoofer to do tunning. Is it correct ? or do EQ tunning one by one.At the same time, i am thinking to use SMS-1 to manage EQ for two subwoofer, that mean from AMp --> SMS-1 -> one to DD-10 and one to another subwoofer. That method can centralize EQ for both subwoofer. However, how about the EQ setting in DD-10 ? Can any one tell me which one is good ? That depends on location of your subwoofer. If you stack the subwoofer one over another, then centralized EQ may have the maximized effect as the frequency response of two subwoofers are more or less the same.
Since you will be y-split the signal through your SMS-1, I personally prefer allowing subwoofer build-in EQ do its job first before SMS-1 EQ calibration.
