Pros
Small and compact in size, good for travel
Internal 2.5" hdd
Support dtshd, truehd bitstream
Act as usb3.0 portable hdd, no power supply needed
Support USB 2.0 ext hdd input
Support flac, ape
Cons
Too hot when operate together with internal hdd
Will lag / hang when over heat
Remote control too small and cheap
No optical out (hd200b has)

According to the official HiMedia webiste:-
HD200A SUPPORTS DTSHD so that the soundtrack will be "downgraded" to DTS.However, it will NOT be able to bitstream the digital signal to the AV Amp. for DTSHD audio decoding.
On the other hand, for TrueHD, it is capable to bitstream the digital signal to the AV Amp. for TrueHD audio decoding.
Please correct me if my understanding is not accurate.

don't worry, hd200a is using realtek 1055dd chipset, already tested with serveral BDISO files, my onkyo nr3007 receiver did light up with DTS-MA / TrueHD.{:6_236:}

I am also tempted to buy the 200A for travelling purposes so that I can watch HD movies at hotel.I particularly like the idea that it can fit a 2.5" hard disk into the media player.
However, if the heat generated by the internal hard disk makes the player not workable, then I may shelf this idea. Dear Gio,
Any further update regarding the "overheat" problem of 200A.I am really tempted to buy the 200A as I travel to the PRC on a weekly basis and it will be great if I can enjoy HD movies using the LCD TV of the hotel (rather than through my 10" iPad).Just want to know if this nifty little player can really work in practice.Can I watch two movies in a row?
I plan to buy a 640G 2.5" harddisk with 200A.Any comment?Should I go for lower capacity one (e.g. 500G) in view of the heat issue.
