Thanks a lot! Think I can also cut for wood cos it's not so heavy (know stone perform better
but my cabinet is very cheap...can't stand for stone + AV amp... )

Ching,
My situation is almost exactly the same as yours!! Either you can put your amp onto the bay window 窗台 or on the top (left side) of the tv cabinet. It will give you more flexiblity to find better amp with better ventilation as well. The only disadvantage is your TV may need to shift a little bit to the right as the amp seems wider than the space available, and the TV will be not perfectly at the centre between the 2 front speakers. This can be solved if you mount the TV on wall so that it is higher than the amp or, you put your right speaker furtehr to the right.
If you still want to put the AV Amp inside the cabinet, you may consider CA 650R (150cm high including feet), but not sure if it fits your bedget, check this link:

Adding stone base to raise up the TV is a good idea too! ....
I am just a new bee and using onkyo 807, planning to buy int amp. Is your Niam good? Does it go with built-in AV-bypass? thz.

Yes, the Naim NaitXS comes with AV bypass but the switch is on the back, not as handy as other brands, at least it's there...
I didn't really like Naim before I became a Naim user, I thought a nice stereo amp should looks like Accuphase or Mcintosh etc where Naim is a bit like a server...
However once I bought it, I started to like it's quality and compact (very good if you hv space concern)
The sound is tend to warm and sweet, a bit like tube amp that's why I like it after tested in Radar (I used to listen a cheap Mainland tube amp)...
And ppl will buy Naim CDP, speaker cables, flatcap etc afterwards (naim poison!)
If you have enough budget, I suggest you to go for SuperNait, higher output, depends on your room size and bullets la
Anyway, if you are interested, go Radar or Michael to test it out, trust your ears!
Cheers~

Thank you so much Nan CHing. I am using B&W CM1. Does it match with Niam well?? I am also thinking about Marantz PM8004 or PM15S2. What do you think?
I suggest you CA650R because it comes with an "X-forces/ convection heat tunnel" which draws the heat actively to the back, internal image as below (the centre piece in black):
But like all other European AV amp, the CA is much mcuh different from the well-known Jap brands such asDenon, Onkyo, Pioneer or Yamaha in terms of both audio and video approaches, and someone just don't like it...... So highly recommend you to test it out and compare with other Jap brands. By the way, welcome to AV world{:6_238:}

The Chip and the HDMI module emit much heat and the AV Amps, inevitably, need good ventilation both on the top and the sides.
The best idea is still to hang the TV on the wall and place your AV amp on the top of the cabinet.
Don't take the risk and put the AV amp inside . 17cm is not high enough for the sake of good ventilation.
