I visited plenty of shops in HK and Japan and found almost all HDMI cables coming from whatever countries are either having no indication of place of manufacture or made in China.I once bought Van den hul, Supra, Sony, Qed, Chord etc. and they are of the same cases.Better buy from the shop you know well or with good reputation.
