ha?.....I think if you read the books, you will know why.
The background is 希臘神話, but, it actually says in the book that the God of Greek exist forever, and that only the God changed location from time to time. Therefore, in this centry, the God move and live in New York, etc. Thats why you see that the building are in USA.
Also, 梅杜, etc. as the book explained, these monster can never be killed. They will just gone (after so called killed) for a period of time, which means, that they can come back....
Hope I have not misinterpret anything...
