因Muse, ACT4 用的DSP晶片, 都是同Storm Audio 粒一樣, Storm 可以每聲道20條PEQ, 這DSP晶片絕對能應付
但Muse, ACT4 每聲道只有5個PEQ, 跟他說, 有些客人需要更多的修正, 有可以不用, 沒有就是沒有
但Rick 很有原則,他認為越用得多PEQ對聲音不好, 結果沒有接受意見
我也欣賞他這份堅持

So, to my experience with v3.002. The first update on 3.002 did not go so well. I lost my triggers and any signal coming out of the inputs and outputs. The interface all appeared to be ‘working’ and saying I was on 3.002 but it was anything but working. The next day I re-ran the auto firmware upgrade and fortunately this ‘fixed’ all my problems with sound and triggers.
The Good:
Sync times appear to have improved again even on v3.00.
Of the small sample size of watching content on Apple TV, it feels more solid (could be due to the quicker sync times)
This is probably placebo but I now feel like there is more resolution with analog audio (I didn’t notice any difference with v3.00 - even though the firmware notes stated an improvement).
The web app feels snappier and stays ‘locked’ in for longer than previous versions (still not great - more on this in the bad below)
The Bad:
Buggy as f*** user interface on the unit itself. Through the various versions this has always been rock solid for me, now it’s at the point of being unusable. Specifically, where you need it most - the channel/layout/PEQ config page. The moment you interact with PEQ the screen turns off and when you next touch it, it takes you back to the home page.
Some features such as PEQ global bypass do not seem to stick. You go in there, you select bypass, you come back to the previous screen, go back to the PEQ bypass screen and it’s enabled again. If you stay in the screen it will turn off the screen after 5 seconds and your back to global PEQ being enabled. Fortunately the PEQ settings for the individual channels seem to stick. There are many other ‘quirks’ like this with some of the other screens, overall the experience for me with the UI on the device has gone from being final version/complete/rock solid to an alpha prototype that needs a lot of work. (Could this be due to the MCU A not properly updating?)
Web app: yes it’s faster but the values for PEQ on the web app do not match the values for PEQ on the device (there is always at least one group that is either turned off in the web app or totally wrong values for Hz, Gain and Q - for some channels not all). When I interact with the values in the web app it then resets to what the values should be and when get out of the page and come back in, it then changes it again to the wrong value. I don’t know what to trust anymore. Fortunately, I already have my PEQ settings and what I’m hearing with my ears sounds correct.
OVERALL: I must preface I haven’t yet had the opportunity to troubleshoot this with the Acurus team, so this is my immediate, personal experience. I’m not here to bash 3.002 it might work well for you. I’m now stuck with it and so far it hasn’t negatively impacted my experience of listening to music and watching content. But if I had to set this up from scratch, with my current experience of the UI, I would likely run out of hair to pull after one day.
