When I was using the Isoclean power cable for the receiver, it sounded holographic, clean and elegant. The top end may be a bit bright with some CDs, but the overall balance is great with well recorded CD and SACD.
However, I have recently changed both of my CD and receiver power cables to Russ Andrew Classic Powercords. The color and contrast of the picture have further improved, human faces have good textures now. However, the sound has taken on a sweet and mellow character, not sure if it's because of the new power cables or the humid weather. The sound is probably a bit too soft for my taste. Since the power cables have only been used for 10 hrs, I shall reserve my judgement.

Thanks to Mr. Lam, I followed his referral and have purchased the UD8004 for HKD13900.
Here's a brief impression after listening 2 hrs without much run in. And the settings also have not been fine tuned.
Picture:
It's more 3D compare to the Philips 7300 which I have been using. Though the color seems a bit greenish, and images are sharper but not very natural. The upscaled DVD picture varies, overall much better than Philips 7300 but still not as smooth as my old Philips 963SA DVD player (mod), despite being brighter, sharper and more "powerful".
Sound:
Elegant but bright sounding, the pure direct makes a noticeable difference. Separation and definition have improved, human voice and sound stage are both appropriate. The "sound effects" are good but the overall sound is also somewhat fatiguing and digital.
Of course, it's still too early to tell, just an initial impression to share with forum members. Will run in further and fine tune the set up. HKD13900係行貨? 13900 ?{:6_212:} Yes, HKD13900行貨. 樓主買到荀野喎 , 偷偷話我知邊度買呀 ?

For the info. you can leave me your email Yes, I have listened to 4010 and Cambrige. It's hard to compare with 4010, since the associated equipments were different. But it was an AB test with Cambridge 650BD and UD9004. In my subjective opinion, the sound of UD8004 is at least 60% better than Cambridge 650BD, it was a clear knock out. Though UD9004 is another 10% better than UD8004 with RCA cable.
Compared to my Philips 7300 (which is HKD1680), the picture is about 10% better, but there is no comparison in sound.
However, I am still tweaking the sound with pure direct modes and cables.
