Setting of new subwoofer energy esw m8
Just bought the new subwoofer energy esw m8. Have questions on setting as I use auto set up of Yamaha av amp 1500. The cross over is 120 Hz and manually change it to 80Hz and volume change from -4.5 to 1.5 db. But still cannot feel much bass, both quality and quantity. Any Ching using the same woofer and have any suggestions on my setting ? Thanks. WHAT IS YOUR FRONT SPEAKER?U BETTER GIVE MORE INFO, COZ THE CROSSOVER WOULD DEPEND WHAT FRONT IS.
USUALLY SET 0db for subwoofer in amp. Mine is mirage 350 and previously using energy s8.1 bass reflective type woofer. It seems with lots of bass though not deep bass. I only found 8.3 spec.
Hope some professional chings can give u advice.
S8.3 Subwoofer

Bragging rights
The S8.3 subwoofer offers terrific performance and great features:
■Ribbed Elliptical Surround woofers that create high efficiency, low distortion■A 100-watt internal amplifier for sonic accuracy and durability■Down-firing port extends bass responseA bass-reflex design with a down-firing port, the S8.3 has an 8-inch MPP cone with Ribbed Elliptical Surround. This proprietary design eliminates surround distortion, letting it go lower with greater output and fidelity. An efficient internal power amplifier with 100 Watt RMS FTC (400 Watt dynamic) amplifier brings listening to a whole new level.
The S8.3 features line and speaker level inputs, as well as a variable low-pass filter for seamless integration with a wide variety of speakers, including Energy’s C-Series and Take Series. The subwoofer also has a power mode switch that turns it on and off automatically, based on the presence of an audio signal.
Maximum performance tips
The three most common subwoofer locations include corners (which can result in boomy or exaggerated low frequency response), placement along a wall, away from the corner (producing moderate bass performance with increased fidelity over corner placement), or beside a front speaker (creating a better blend with the front speaker, but sacrificing overall volume). Experimentation with subwoofer placement is highly encouraged; slight adjustments can create big differences in sound reproduction. To test subwoofer placement, install it temporarily in your main listening position and walk around the listening room while playing a familiar piece of music until you find the best sounding position.

Part Number 1009502 thanks Ching Energy esw m8 is quite different from S8.1 to me as it seems that it better merges with the front and centre speakers as they sound much clearer than before but normally you don't notice the bass or you may think it is off unless there are scenes like explosion, flying of plane like iron man, then you are sure it is on.I don't know whether this is better perfomance of subwoofer or something wrong with it. Any suggestion ? I have changed the power cord this evening and run in for 3 days. Bass is coming back.
