HDMI Cable

Hi all ching, I am looking for a HDMI cable (aprox 1.5m) to use with my panasonic bd60, a salesman suggest a original panasonic HDMI cable to me and it cost $280... I think it is a little bit expensive so I want to ask do I need to buy this origianl panasonic HDMI cable or I can find a better one (value for money)? This salesman told me that there could be a signal lost if I am not using the original panasonic HDMI cable, is this ture? My question could be a little naive but I really need some advice, tks
