Not close to "tube" as it is just a bit warm as compared with Denon and Pioneer.
No fan since I place 906 on the top deck of hifi rack.
Many c hings like class D for movies but I like class AB...

Thanks for your valuable comment above.
Suppose 905 and 906 shared the same Onkyo sound characters and build features of 90x.Curious if any major differences between the 2 as a ching is selling a 2nd hand 905.
Do you think which brand M, O, P and Y's character suits more my old JBL 44xx speakers in view of AV (just 5 or 5.1), and in view of pure music (Jazz and vocal) ?
Thanks

No side by side comparsion between 905and 906. Their structure and components are the same except the firmwares and DSP are different.906 may be regarded as the updated model of 905 after fixi ...

Currently not 4425 but driving another vintage pair JBL 3 ways 4411 (metal dome tweeter) by an integrated amp for jazz but currently want to add a reaonable AV amp with the same JBL pair as front spkrs for movies, or preferably movies and music both for convenience.Just 5.1 channels is ok to me as likely will use BTL offered by some amps for more power.Any amp suggestion ?Thanks

If just for 5.1, may be Onkyo 906, 876, and Marantz av amp will be suitable for you. Denon is good too but a bit overpriced and Denon is lean on movies than music. If you like play around EQ and DSP ...

Appreciate YMH's surround effect but my problem is that no shop could offer a trial listening of the new amp models (any brands) with old spkrs as in my case.I love to keep using the old spkrs but not certain which AV amp best matches. Each brand, in general, offers a characterised product philosophy / taste.
Anyway thanks for your helpful advice again.
