Warm 機
http://www.avhub.com.au/ProblemSolver.aspx?MagazineID=5&QuestionID=44Q. Why it is necessary to ‘warm-up’ hi-fi equipment to obtain the best sound? I can’t understand what difference it could make to electrons whether they are traveling through a cold resistor (or capacitor or whatever) or through a warm one. Surely the resistance (and capacitance etc) is always exactly the same?
A. The electrical properties of almost every electronic component vary with temperature. By warming up an amplifier you ensure that all the components inside are at a uniform operating temperature. It also drives off any moisture that may have condensed inside the unit. Generally, a warm-up need only be 20–30 minutes before acceptable performance is obtained, but to be absolutely sure of peak performance for a critical listening session it’s best if the amp is run for at least two hours prior.
