For 3700D / 7000D series, after you buy a SATA HDD, you need to partition / format it in a PC first.Then plug it into Magic TV, after boot up, perform Settings -> Recording -> Advanced -> Format System HDD.

Buy 8000D if you need to record now TV or cable TV or myTV Super.
Otherwise, buy 9500 (with internal HDD) or 9000 (requires 3.5" USB HDD).
If you're sure you don't need the Netflix / YouTube and other internet video apps from MTV9x00, buy MTV3800D (with internal HDD) or MTV3300D (requires 3.5" USB HDD).

我是用 2.5 吋外置 HD,沒有加外置電源,當錄影機開時自動開,不用長開,十分方便{:6_142:}

If you use a 2.5" USB HDD without power supply, then its power is supplied by Magic TV USB port, and the USB port power will be cut when Magic TV stands by.In this case the 2.5" USB HDD is not running 7x24.However, Magic TV does not guarantee it can supply enough power to drive 2.5" USB HDD (especially old ones), therefore 2.5" USB HDD is not recommended.
It is usually safer and cheaper (cost per TB) to use a 3.5" USB HDD with power supply.
