Some testings for my AV amp
After the heart breaking comments by my friend, I made up my mind to fine tune my system tonight.I did 3 tests finally. Both tests played Transformer 2 Ch 1 (Shanghai scene).
My original setting is - Crossover at 150Hz, Front = Large, Center = Small, Rear = Small
Here are my findings:
1) Crossover at 100Hz, set all speakers as small
More bass can be heard, but it seems not clear enough, and the dialogue (voice) seems to be softer, maybe this is due to the overwhelming by the subwoofer bass. Less dynamic feeling when firing the guns.....
2) Crossover at 80Hz, set all speakers as small
Dialogue seems to be clearer & louder, more bass can be heard compared to original setting. More dynamic and punchy feeling during explosions. Can slightly feel the direction of bass moving from left to right & vice versa (i.e. Better clarity).
3) Crossover at 80Hz, Front = Large, the rest = Small
Similar to 2) but less bass can be heard, still good in dynamic but less punchy feeling.
So finally I picked 2) as my final setting
For playing 2ch music, I found that turning off EQ and setting front speakers at 0dB can bring different feeling to me. Seems like more details I can hear and the sound is more "out of the box", but it seems like the sound is bit "out of focus".
So up to now I have no conclusion how to handle it...... Congratulation for having improvement.{:6_193:} 如果你覺得D聲 "out of focus", 試吓toe in對喇叭就有幫助! if u hv sub, then it's better to set front spk as small I think.
let the sub handle the bass. u will find the sound more clear. Good approach... Try different settings and pick the one you like most!{:6_193:} good to hear that u had improvement BTW, what sub cable you are using?

Lets try pure mode of your AV amp, same function but more convenience{:6_155:}

That was what I thought too, but......
Pure Direct will not neglect your CH level..... my FL was -6dB and FR was -8dB....
So when I listen 2ch music, i will use 0dB by now.... Pure Direct will not neglect your CH level{:6_121:}
