i found that upgrade kit on the web indeed. The part number is AGF77602207. People in US can be upgraded but not in Hong Kong.....Tried to ask LG, but no luck..sigh...and thank you for your workaround thread!

Yes, EG9650 (2015) supports HDCP2.2, but LA9700 (2013) does not.
