Double Bass in Onkyo AV Amp
Read some comments from Chings here, most of them set "Double Bass OFF" in their Onkyo amp.I tried last night by playing Kung Fu Hustle (the scene we used for testing 5007 & LX82 before), all punchy bass or "hit your chest" were gone. And then I tried U-571, "Deep water bomb" was so weak too....
Then I immediately turn on Double bass again, the bass is feeling like from different world....
Any Chings who do not use Double Bass, please comment why you think not using Double Bass is better? If I use double bass, I feel more bass around but the clarity of the bass is weak.{:6_165:}
I don't use double bass because both from front speakers and subwoofer will blur the bass.{:6_154:}

Oh you have such a good system, thats why no need to use Double bass to boost it.....
By the way, can you quote some movie scenes that can test the clarity of bass?
Because I still cannot recognise what is good clarity of bass.... Thanks. In fact, I used Velodyne Impact 10" subwoofer before.I have the same feel that double bass is not suitable for me.Bass is more but not in good quality and clarity. {:6_143:}

Most importantly, it is not the double bass that matters.It is the feel you like.Try and share what you feel.{:6_177:} Too bad, I dont have Andy Lau concert BD..... DTS 96/24 in DVD is also good enough to try!{:6_235:} If I use double bass, I feel more bass around but the clarity of the bass is weak.{:6_165:}
