after I purchased the Kuro TV, i did not want to waste the superb picture quality, then i bought BDP-LX71.With it, then why waste the HD sound and changed my AV amp to SC-LX71, then this "why waste" gave me excuses to buy more and better HDMI cables, power cables etc.If you think the current system is doing fine, no need to waste money.But technology advanced very fast, this year's equipment already a lot better than last year's.Just like the Pioneer SC-LX71, i can listen to more details than my previous Yamaha A-X.

Go ahead but you may have to spend more budget than years ago as nowadays, the av amp has to pay more license fee than years ago e.g. dts, THX ...

BTW, from my HiFi experience - don't upgrade, JUMP grade.Otherwise u will regret.
