Pioneer 500A
Have my 500A delivered last Wednesday.Booked to install on last Saturday1:00-3:00 p.m. but the installation team (3 guys) came in 5:00p.m. {:1_250:} (maybe too many 500A sets to be installed){:1_248:}
My only complain is that the remote control of 500A is a bit heavy and the button/text is a bit small{:1_253:} (may be due to my dim eyesight).
But then strange things (HDMI stuff again) happened:-
I used to connect 4 hdmi devices (namely PS3, BR player,HTPC & Video processor) to a 4x2 hdmi swith and then output to my previous Sony 32" LCD TV & Mit HC3000 projector; now the swith output to 500A (I don't have time to check the HC3000) did not work for PS3 & BR player (okay for HTPC & video processor, I don't have a hdmi AV amp yet).
More weird is that when using the Honeywell hdmi (borrowed from a friend) the PS2 & BR palyer can output to 500A vai the hdmi 4x2 switch.On the other hand, when using the honeywell hdmi to connect directly between the BR player and the 500A, the TMT player in the HTPC cannot play BR ripped files {:1_248:} I am a bit exhausted now after all the disgued happenings.
BTW, my friend is going to have a new AV system in his new house as follows based on my recommendation:-{:1_253:}
Pioneer 500A TV
Pioneer LX-52 AV amp (previoulsy looking for Yamaha, but the 2060 is a bit overpriced)
Pioneer BDP-320 (previoulsy aimed for Panasonic BDP-60 but persuased by the saleman to have a Pioneer "suite"
Speakers: Klipsch - RF-52, RC-52, RS42
Veloydne CHT-8Q Subwoofer BDP Lx-52 & BDP-320 have a price difference of more than $1000 for my not so "fever" friend and focused on Video not music. On checking the manual of VSX LX-52, it seems that it does not have the HDMI "pass through" feature in the Yamaha AV amp- i.e. -e.g. MTV--->LX52-->TV; switch off LX-52 (AV amp) and still can watch MTV in TV.
Am I correct? Is the "KURO link" the solution I've been looking for? Any Ching comment pls. BTW, my friend is going to have a new AV system in his new house as follows based on my recommendation:-

On seeing the whole movie (Star Trek)this afternnon in my friend's new home applying the EQ setting of Yamaha thread, I think the sound is okay (vocal is clear, front sound stage is okay, but the surround effect is not much may be due to the surround speaker hanging above the sofa) and that urged me to buy the LX-52 AV amp (water goods only $5,xxx) to replace my old Yamaha 1400.But the LX-52 is at -15db sound level whereas the max volume level of LX-52 is -12 ( refer from the manual if remeber correct) for 200 sq ft which I doubt if is power sufficient.
