Do u only have 1 pair of speaker? if yes, then why 5.1 channel AV amp?
If you want to keep the A340 for music then it need to have an AV bypass function, and connect teh 708 pre-out to A340 amp.
If my guess is right, you may want to connect the PC to 708 by HDMI. and 708 pre-out to A340 > speaker.
At teh same time, your PC remain the orginal connection PC>MD10>CAMBRIDGE A340>NHT CLASSIC 2.
So when you play music, you use the original set up.
When you play AV file, use PC to play and 708 to decod and drive the 5.1 system
