Thicker sound is good, but considering my small and cheap cheap bedroom I think I should have something in between, otherwise the thick sound added to my SVS may cause a lot of booming.

thats nothing about the svs ,they are not producing the same frequence ,nomatter which band the woofer was , sounds thicker will be a lot more relax than harsh , u will get tired if u hear it for 3 - 4 hours , but u can get used to it anyway. just my experience , i won't always change speaker , i rather spend more at one time otherwise have to upgrade again , speaker was very important .....{:1_263:}

Thanks claero. {:6_196:} My modest budget won't allow me to consider B&Ws. {:6_181:} Not that I can't afford them, but the followup upgrades I will have to make (at least get a power amp or upgrade to LX81) really hold me back,{:6_181:} not to mention the danger of being sucked into the abyss of 2.0 {:6_243:} So, for now I think I should stick with these cheaper brands... {:6_187:} After all I am looking for speakers almost purely for theatrical purpose. I will certainly consider a pair of B&Ws when I get an apartment of my own {:6_193:} But for now I think a 25K 7.1 system (excluding sub) should be able fill my 100 sq. ft. tiny bedroom with decent sound for movies (I hope) {:6_184:}

我隻 JM 816 皮幾, 中置 1.7k (emotiva erm-1 強力推介), 睇戲聽歌(只用816座地)都ok, 個人覺得喇叭最重要, 反而av amp 有解碼hdmi 就算, 所以認為 喇叭喺 2萬7 budget 裡佔萬7都唔算多
