Then try using MinimServer to serve the AIFF file (along with other formats)

If this works, then it's an issue with your current music server.

If this does not work, it's probably a bug in your network player firmware.

A server bug can potentially affect network playback of a specific type of file.That's why I suggested trying MinimServer, which is well proven.

Installing it on Buffalo (as compared to the popular Synology or QNAP), however, requires more knowledge in Linux.

An easier way is to install MinimServer on Windows or MAC to do the network AIFF test.This way you can find out whether it's a Buffalo NAS server bug, or a player bug.
