Whitney 真係好令人慨嘆. 唉~毒品害人. 點解D人明知都要試.

最後一張ALUMB~ LOOK TO YOU, Whitney
I Didn't Know My Own Strength(written by Diane Warren)、Million Dollar Bill(written by Alicia Keys),以及I Look To You(written by R. Kelly)三首single的remix,三首single都找了至少四組人馬做official remix,unofficial remix更多。I Didn't Know My Own Strength有9 remixes(from 6 remixers) version in my iTune,我最喜歡Jonathan Peters Club Mix,大概聽了近百次;Million Dollar Bill有8 remixes(from 5 remixers) in my iTune,I prefer Freemasons Club Mix;以及I Look To You有7 remixes(from 5 remixers) in my iTune,the 2 Johnny Vicious Club Mix are my favorite,also fine new megamix by Jody Den Broeder & Warren Rigg。(前面提到的都是12" Club Mix,我不收7" or radio mix,也不收dub) ivan_shan 發表於 2013-11-13 12:38 static/image/common/back.gif

I think both "Whitney" and "I'm Your Baby Tonight" albums contain most of her best works. Songs like"Miracle", "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", "Didn't We Almost Have It All", "After We Made Love" are top notch and her later albums failed to live up to the standards.{:6_179:}
Wonder why the record company does not reissue and remaster her old albums like "Whitney" and "I''m Your Baby" with B-sides, bonus tracks and remixes. {:6_141:} Other artists like Sheena Easton, "Belinda Carlisle", "Kim Wilde" etc. have their old albums remastered and reissued as 2CDs or 2CD + DVD deluxe package. I bet Whitney Houston's old albums are NEVER remastered and reissued until now.{:6_123:} ernietse 發表於 2013-11-12 11:39 static/image/common/back.gif
That why my priority is always Japanese edition first, usa edition, lastchoice is german edition ...
ernietse,
From your experience, will the sound quality be different among the Japanese edition, US edition, German edition, HK, Taiwan and Korean edition of the same album???I know Japanese edition always has extra bonus tracks (because Japanese local pressed CDs is more expensive than foreign imports), but which country's CD is better in sound quality? Please rank them 1, 2, 3 etc.. best one first {:6_190:} 本帖最後由 ernietse 於 2013-11-13 22:51 編輯

I feel the Japanese-made CD itself is the best, I mean just the disc edge is smooth and balance around the whole disc, whereas the USA or Germany made disc edge sometime is not smooth nor even, some may even too thin and sharp that scratch your finger to bleeding{:1_248:}
and the Japanese-made CD surface side of printed logo, song name, information rarely fade away, well-printed and balance
but Germany made disc printed information easily faded away
Generally speaking regarding the sound, I feel Japanese-made sound level is relatively normal, Germany-made sometime sound level very low
USA-made sound sometimes more sharp and louder
I like Canada-made CD also, the inside booklet and printing has coating, rarely has finger-marks, and sound good too
I don't listen to Korean so rarely has korean-made CD, perhaps some polydor old CD like Teresa teng or alan tam were Korean made
I think it is a matter of personal preference, sound is so subjective to tell, overall for POP music, I would rank:
1. Japan
2. USA
3. Canada
4. Austria
5. Spain
6. France
7. Australia
8. Germany
9. UK
10. Taiwan
11. Hong Kong
12. Korea
I buy Japanese edition because the lyrics and the disc itself is better, sometimes has different cover artwork than USA edition (for example, first album of Air Supply and Whitney Houston cover artwork is different than USA or Europe edition)
sometimes when the artist goes to Japan for concert tour, Japan may issue special edition, that's why I like Japanese edition
I think the most obvious example is vinyl, Japanese vinyl claimed use 100% virgin plastic so it is the best among the world. I remember in the 80's, the Japanese made 12inches vinyl has better bass than USA 33rpm or UK45rpm vinyl
perhaps this experience give me more confidence in Japan-made CD software ernietse 發表於 2013-11-13 21:22 static/image/common/back.gif

ernietse,
Thanks for the tips{:6_162:}
"the disc edge is smooth and balance around the whole disc, whereas the USA or Germany made disc edge sometime is not smooth nor even, some may even too thin and sharp.." I strongly agree {:6_193:} {:6_193:} The Japanese and some Taiwanese made CDs are really smooth at the edge, very good production quality and packaging.
I bought Madonna's Japanese 2011/12 reissue "Ray Of Light", the inserts and CD are all {:6_193:}, yet with bonus tracks:
