The world of today has largely realized the future imaginations of people living 100 years ago, with our technology filled lives of mobile phones, computers, flat screen monitors, personal cars etc. However there is still something which has not been fully realized, and that is the "personal flying machine". And with the easy air of "if it doesn't exist why not make one?" Kazuhiko Hachiya has over the past few years strived to develop his own personal flying device. This summer 3331 Arts Chiyoda presents two of these experimental aircrafts produced by Hachiya as part of the OpenSky project, including the glider model M-02 completed in 2006 and the jet engine plane M-02J soon to be undergoing test flights. As seen from the Nico Nico gijutsu-bu and Make movement a serious drive towards DIY is increasingly gripping us all, and so this summer you can encounter the dream of making your own aircraft at 3331 Arts Chiyoda.
Throughout the exhibition period a whole series of talks and workshops centering around the sky and space will be held, along with other events, perfect for parents and children to join during the summer holiday. Furthermore OpenSky will be accompanied by an exhibition of the "Summer Rocket Team" and their independent DIY rocket project.

10 years have passed since the initiation of the OpenSky project in 2003, challenging towards a personal jet engine flying device. This exhibition follows the various developments in this innovative experiment with video footage, photo documents and other related works.
