You may be right if comparing the ripping of a 16bit/44.1kHz file from normal CD between Blu-ray player and high quality CDT/CDP, however, we are talking about ripping 24bit/96KHz music files from blu-ray disc which cannot be played at a HQ CDT/CDP.
Also you are right, it may be meaningless to compare the quality and trend of mastering style with the studio mastered HD file with the one ripped ourselves. It is obvious that the mastering technique and equipment used to make the studio master HD files are much much better than we can offer.
By the way, just FYI, get a chance to use Philips BDP9600/9700 as a CD transport, compare to other expensive CDT, and also listen directly the 24bit/96kHz music output from your DAC with coaxial cable connected to it, you may be surprised at once.
Best quality and original sound will be always enjoyed from simpliest music reproduction way.

You don't have to turn on the TV for selecting songs since they have apps for smart phone (iPhone...

Fine! Although I prefer simple life but I also agree with other people enjoying life in a different way.
