my point is a relatively low output (45w per channel) can drive a speaker and even blow it without difficulty, is the output figure really that important?
ps. my power amp is a Naim NAP-140, bought in uk back in late 80's and has been serving me for more than 2 decades.

that pair of speaker (one of those cost only a few hundred and local made) was going/sound well at b ...
i am sorry that i surely do not know what "clipping" about.
but going over 12 o'olock was fine with my previous "Energy" speaker and is still fine with the current "Mission"(but it is a 10 years old shitty floorstander).
so, probably going "huge" figure is the way to look for for most people but not for me.my only 45w per channel still going fine and strong and i seldom go over 1 o'clock, probably i am just too old for "loud" {:1_258:} by the way, i used to be a "loud music" chaser, "Disco Robo" was my dream machine{:1_339:} it out performed 777 by far{:1_351:}
unfortunately a Disco Robo is now just too expensive and not easy to find.{:1_332:}
