I use cubieboard 1, not 2.
No direct A/B testing. I use two cubieboards to connect different ddc and dac at the same time. All are cheap stuff (taobao xmos and xilink DDC, also taobao DIY dac like tda 1541 / tda 1547 / wm 8741 etc).The cubieboard and the ddc cost around 3 to 4 hundred HK dollars each.
Squeezelite automatically download cover from the file while MPD need to setup another cover server. All are free but I never use linux before and it took me days to setup them up ( thanks to the almighty google). Both are controlled with android phones and tab ( squeezebox controller and mpdroid). Since it run with little power I left both of them on round the clock. I am still using cheap switching 5v power source for them.Play up to 96 KHzwav and flac file in my system.
I also use a zotac box with SSD and window 7/ foobar / splasptop / foobar controller. This system is very flexible and cover flac / wav / DSD / APE / HDCD files. But the response is slower with my ipad especially if I have to boot up every thing. For the cubieboard it take less than one minute.
Have to admit that the best source is still my CD player and DAC combo. But I play CD rarely since it is so easy to just turn on my phone and select file or playlist out of my hundreds.

nice share! I may choose cubox because mubox is the optimized linux for CAS... cubieboard is cheaper and no optimized linux...

直頭係幾乎一樣，不過佢話可以 stream youtube 去播，我未試，唔知佢係指 stream 去 MPD 定邊到。{:6_160:}
