Some people say that Mcintosh doesn't match with B&W speakers is that true? anywhere you could test B&W and Mcintosh together? :D

1) Some people say that Mcintosh doesn't match with B&W
以往Mcintosh (合拼計6900以前) 夾B&W (以8系計上一代, 即未有Diamond), 兩者真係有些少性格重疊。
如Mcintosh深沉力大, B&W溫厚細慢。 聽大棚, 搖滾都略有所失。但自從進入高清時代, 無論老麥, B&W取向均與以往稍有不同。有人甚至認為現在既老麥同B&W唔係老麥同B&W。但個人認為現今老麥同B&W比以往中性得多, 喺配搭方面就更加靈活多變。所以ching所擔心既配搭問題亦無需憂慮, 至少以我為ex－老麥 (合拼6600, 前後級C50+452) 夾B&W (CM8, 805D) 用家嚟講兩者配搭完全無問題, 表現仲非常滿意。至於出售805D原因都只為更上一層樓而以。
2）anywhere you could test B&W and Mcintosh together?
由於Mcintosh 同B&W 在港均屬於兩個不同代理, 所以要在同一店子試聽兩者表現真不太可能。(相信此乃老麥與B&W之匹配問題原因之一。但外國用老麥配B&W的例子真的不少。) 所以如要同場試聽兩者表現, 相信唯一方法就只有家訪同好ching喇。 Thanks C-Hing for your detail explanation. B&W and Mcintosh are my favorite brands (even though I am not currently using their amps and speakers at the moment). I am going to go for it and get a set soon :D
