Tung-Sol KT120 直代 KT88
從外面看到很多人用咗KT120 直代 KT88, 開心得不得了,而且不太貴, us$ 50 x 4, 所以一問, 各位有冇經驗分享?假如 BIAS 不變. 分別在電熱且多Ｄ電 (由 1.7Amp 去到 1.9Amp) 相信大部份ULPP 机可以接受, 强国無弱牛, 最多熱多小小, 都不致於燒牛掛.

Prima Luna.com 經荷蘭工程師測試半年後,宣佈"It is safe to use Tung Sol KT 120 in ALL Prima Luna amplifiers".
大家google一下,可見此美資俄制power tube 熱潮. 見台灣ARC有代客將6550 amp 升級去KT120服務,不過部機唔知改咗啲乜嘢先用到 operating voltage:
515V and 55mA for the KT-88 VS 630V and 100mA for the KT-120
55mA to 100mA 喎, 多左80%電流.
如果你用緊強國牛又覺得強國無弱牛... 我指新一代强國机都加大咗隻牛的氶受能力,就KT88 的工作電壓計,HEATER 扯多咗Ｄ, 由1.7 AMP 去到1.95, 在KT120 低偏壓 (用上KT88的BIAS) 上, 我是外行, 但在高低音上, 有人說是更好,更受控, 可以肯定的是,壽命更長.
所有AUDIO RESEACH 新机都是用上KT120. CARY 机所用的牛有成200%WORKLOAD保險. 也是可一試,
題外,以下作參考歴史:
AL1 Mother of all Audio Power PENTODES.
EL3n Smaller pre-type of EL34. Beautiful coke bottle glass, and perfect pentode inside. No NOS spotted, but good used tubes are cheap. Collector's item.
6L6 Low cost, reliable tube. Cheap and good beam tetrode, with some distortion though. Break through of the beam tetrode.
KT66 Better construction 6L6, made in UK . This is a beam tetrode. KT stands for "Kinkless Tetrode".
7581A Better construction 6L6, made in USA
5881 Better construction 6L6, made in USA
EL34 Real pentode Can do higher voltage. Works very nice in Class A also.
6550 larger 6L6
KT88 Upgrade of 6L6, designed by TUNG-SOL.This is a beam tetrode. KT stands for "Kinkless Tetrode"
KT90 Original idea by EI - Yugoslavia. This is modified EL519 which works like a KT88.
KT94, KT100 So called higher power KT88. Part numbers are abused by the Chinese. Can be anything from a KT88 to a 6550, with a larger glass bulb.
KT120 This tube is no KT88. It draws more heater current, and it has another operating point. The operating point being "not KT88" shows to me this was knocked together, by using existing tools. With dedicated tools, a real high power KT88 could be made, compatible to old versions.
EL509 Switching tube for TV deflection. Can do very high plate current peaks, can withstand extreme heat, also due to magnoval socket. Looks like a larger EL34, but linearity a a compromise as with all switching tubes.
EL156 Original audio tube. Something like very large EL34, but 10 pin socket
EL152 German army tube. Larger than EL34, but with army socket
GU-50 Russian army tube. Same as EL152, but yet another socket. Best and finest tube of this list. Strong a s tank.
再補充, 我是指胆的壽命,不是牛的壽命.

我就用緊對KT90, 請問師兄知不知道KT120可否直代呢？{:6_162:} 樓主如果相信隻大陸牛知夠力的話, 又不計較其他因素, 只談膽的壽命,
那麼直代是成立的.
可是其他因素多的是, 小弟試試列出其他因素 :
1. 火牛承受功率不只是 1.6A -> 1.9A, 而係乘4, 即是增加8W, 因為有4支 KT120;
2. KT120 發出的熱量大增, 因為沒有原本 KT88機體的資料, 所以無法計出增加多少, 但一定會熱左的;
3. 膽與膽的空間如果不足夠散熱, 請小心影響機內的其他零件;
暫時係咁多, 樓主如果衡量過覺得OK, 那麼請放心換上 KT120啦. 多謝ADA 兄, KT120正正係高咗同肥咗, 我部机是GRANT FIDELITY RITA 880, 正在等IAN GRANT 的回覆肯定,
三點似都可以過闆,部机百多磅,隻牛大隻累累,不用摩改,尚可–試.

我覺得已經不是價錢問題，單純是你想膽燒快d定牛燒快d而已....
但平心論，現代的kt88膽機閒閒地都40w起跳，本來就非常消耗膽的壽命。可能1年左右你已經要換(新膽或舊金c膽命運一樣)，差d的大陸膽，可能一年都唔夠已經好衰聲，根本玩kt88就已經無乜好選擇，但我個人角度都係唔會玩kt120，好簡單，機貴定膽貴的道理，膽老化左你可以再換，機我諗你唔會成日換吧??
