I am using desktop with 500w psu, I think it is difficult to get a linear PSU, but if i can get a linear PSU for the intel NUC, I think it is worth to try the different. Please see the spec of intel NUS below, I think the i3 version is enough for a music server.

It is very good item for CAS, I have 2 friends using it and say very good sound.
If make Linear it is very easy because only need 19V.
