Tested the following materials,
1. Flight of Phoenix
2. Cloverfield
3. U571
4. Andy Lau Concert
Extra: Iron Man
Before joining the show, I had been to net friend's place and try out their subwoofers (M&K MX350 THX x 2 / PC13 Ultra x 2) with some of the softwares in the list.
For the Flight of Phoenix, they played the sand storm chapter (Mayday Mayday) which will give very low bass (~10Hz) in the aeroplane cabinet.May be the room is too large and sitting on a chair that normal have in chinese restaurant.The effect is there, but the ass-shaking bass is not as strong as I feel in net friend's crouch.
Cloverfield is another movie that I tried at home before, which makes my PC12-Plus's limiter kick's in some scenes.PC13-Ultra x 4 handles bass very well, with very very little clipping at the bottom.For the performance of MTS system, as I sit at the first row, the tweeter seems a bit too sharp. (Probably due to they are new / AV Amp is not powerful enough to handle well).
U571 is crazily impressive on the depth charge scene.Those scenes inside the submarine is awesome, with very deep bass shaking the ceiling of the room, the feeling is very intense and exciting.What I can feel is the ground shaking (even with carpet covered) and air moving around my trousers.
For the rest, it is a nice experience with Iron Man, which completely different from what I have watched at home earlier with Sunfire HRS-8.Andy Lau concert is ok, as the speaker sounded pretty sharp and not quite impressed.
Out of my surprise is a Denon 4308 can push all speakers with insanely high volume (+3-+5db in the show and channel level +12db @_@).I am impressed and it is definitely enough for those with a audition area below 200sqft.Real cool!
