Speakers spikes for LS50

Due to space limitation, the LS50 are now placed on a glass shelf.

I put a carpet beneath the speakers. Would speaker spikes help the sound? If so, any recommendation? Metal or wood?

sound stage is great to me a beginner. hope to improve clarity of sound.
