I also have a himedia player.
I treat this as a luxury player, better picture quality. But in terms of compatibility, it must not as good as HiMedia I believe.
Your case, if you no complain with your current bdp, you can wait. Always new model better quality, never can catch up unless you have unlimited money.

同一遭遇啊, 部BDP用佐3年都仲係咁生猛, 開機仲幾快添, 想換機都唔得,唉...{:6_171:}

粗粗地代d 450(月肉)機主答住, 講錯唔好打面.
1) 作為一部入門BDP, 已有QDEO, 雙HDMI, 兼BD all code全讀, 唔使外加硬解. 另讀Diskette快, 可外掛.
2) 作為Media player, 尤以玩BDMV/iso為主個d, 讀file無難度, 兼沒有cinavia protection, 仲有NFS (SMB??).可外掛.
3) 魔機嘅空間大, 兼咁嘅價, 衰佐都唔使驚.當然以2千鬆d嘅機價就最理想.

1) 可外掛: you mean can input external harddisk to increase the memory and to save movie?
2) 作為Media player,兼沒有cinavia protection: cinavia protection is not a good function? also what is NFS (SMB??)

NFS (SMB??)指通過網去讀iso/BDMV之類嘅正斗方法.
