From what I know (may be right or may be wrong), CBS/Sony in Japan and PolyGram in West Germany were the only CD factories in the world until middle of 1983.After summer of 1983, other CD factories started production....Toshiba-EMI, Denon, JVC, Mitsubishi, etc.
Also, I've seen adverts of 華星雷射首選猛碟第一輯 in a December 1983 TVB magazine.If that is the first Chinese language (Cantonese or Mandarin), then 華星雷射首選猛碟第一輯 CD was released around that time (November/December 1983).
