I just read the Voyage Getting Started Guide page 7, section 7, regarding setup of UPnP AV Media Server, and I managed to complete the setup in 10 minutes.
But wait, look at the note below, it says UPnP is not preferred if the user can setup NFS or Samba due to performance issue and it doesn't auto-start during each bootup. {:9_411:}
i read this b4 but didn't have a chance to try, it seems that NFS is better alternative.

Obee Hing,just bought the Voyage starter kit and follow yr instruction to setup NAS link.
Everything was good except when I use SOtM to connect I only get the signal lock and no sound was sent to DAC.
However, when I directly plug the USB cable to DAC, it sings.It must be something to set in the mpd.conf to make SOtM
to work properly.Since u are using SOtM USB HD, can u share the setting instruction in the audio_output.Tks.

Yes, I've asked Punky on this. In fact, if you email to ask him, he will tell you the same.
According to him, this is an known issue of current version (0.9RC1), that's why it is still "release candidate", not stable yet). Punky said the Voyage automatically "mute" the SOtM, the solution is to "unmute" it during startup after the USB driver is loaded but before you play music:
You can put the following line (in one line) in /etc/init.d/voyage-util, after line#95, right after "start_leds".amixer scontrols|sed -e 's/^Simple mixer control//'|while read line;do amixer sset "$line" unmute;done

I am interested to setup the Voyage MPD in my eeePC, is the any guide to do that ? I have tried the VMware to play the liveCD as your instruction, but I do not know what is the next step to play the music when root@voyage:~#_appeared. Appreciated your early response.

First of all, you need to setup a music source (from Windows (PC) or NAS?). I suggest using NAS as source as they have NFS usually. Windows (PC) also works, but it uses Samba (Windows file sharing) which is not as easy as NFS and may have firewall issue in Windows.
Then you edit the "/etc/fstab" file to add the share, and point the local mount point inside your MPD music library.
Finally you restart mpd / reboot voyage linux and you can control via iPad, given that your iPad and voyage are on the same network.
(I have written a sample setup guide for your reference: http://post76.hk/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=136041&pid=2201656&fromuid=3405, since I use Synology NAS, I just use NFS.)
